Splash Klasse Organisatie Nederland

The Splash Worlds will be organised by the “Splash Klasse Organisatie Nederland (SKON)”, the SKON is founded in 1988 and is an association with around 300 members. The Splash is Dutch built dinghy for young people between 15 and 21 years old. The Splash is open for all levels of sailors, from novice sailors to sailors who want to perform at their top level. This can be regional, national or international. The SKON wants to play an active role in the sailing career of sailors at whatever level.

Training, therefore, is an important part of the SKON activities. For training the SKON works closely with individual associations, cooperative associations in the regions and ongoing consultation with the Sailing Federation. Therefore SKON has also established the coaches academy.

The board of the SKON encourages youth sailing and racing in the Netherlands where we want to contribute to the sailing technical, physical and social development of youth. The Board strives for a healthy balance between a broad base and a strong peak in the Splash class. The board is responsible for organising national competitions and encouraging regional competitions and training and monitoring of the unit in the class. The commitment is to provide accessible opportunities for participation in competitions, providing a security for the sailors and creating a positive and stimulating atmosphere for sailors, coaches and family members.
